What Makes Univera Unique
Innovation. Univera, AloeCorp, Unigen Pharmaceuticals, and the other ECONET companies create novel, on-purpose products targeting human performance, nutrition, immune health, and longevity. Our extensive product portfolio does not contain the typical healthfood store stock items; instead, each product highlights a distinct connection to the body's repair capacity. We like to think of our products as one-of-a-kind. Irreplaceable.
Rigorously Controlled Science.
- ECONET's research capabilities, programs, and lab equipment inventory are, so far, unmatched by any nutraceutical company in the industry. Research capabilities include full-scale genomics, proteomics, biological and biochemical research technologies, supported by GCMS, LCMS, PCR, and proton nuclear magnetic resonance imaging. This breadth of technology enables the formal study of gene behavior in relation to medicinal compounds and functional foods.
Many companies purport to conduct genomics investigation. Without PCR and proton NMR imaging, research capabilities are limited, unable to discover practical applications for the products under study. ECONET scientists have had over 20 research reports published in peer-reviewed science or medical publications.

The Power of Patents
As evidence of our commitment to primary, innovative research, the ECONET family of companies vigorously pursues patent protection for our discoveries. To date, the US and international portfolios includes over 200 patents awarded and pending.
What This Means to You
Univera Associates should feel proud of this remarkable achievement. Very few companies in the natural products arena have even a single valid patent. US and international patents confer a strong level of protection against imitation, and keep Univera at the leading edge of this important industry
When applied to the right products, patents can demonstrate true innovation.
It is not simply the NUMBER of patents that counts; it's the QUALITY of those patents. Patents can range in category from patents on composition of matter (generally lower value, as this is the most easily obtained form of patent), to patents based on GENOMIC evidence and in-vivo effects. Thus, for the consumer conducting his due diligence, patent-searches can pose a challenge, as a patent can either demonstrate a company’s quality and depth of study, or a patent can veil the absence of it.
At Unigen and Aloecorp, patents are filed for protection of a wide range of discoveries, many of which lie at the genomic level.
There are but a handful of nutraceutical companies in the world creating patents based on genomic evidence. Others must be content to "borrow" science that may or may not be relevant to product quality.
In today's medical science and public health communities, research-based, evidence-informed science provides the greatest confidence in safety and efficacy. This is why Univera does not stop at attaining patents on the composition of matter, but expands its patents and research efforts to include process, technology, and use patents.
If a company claims to have patented products, then they can be expected to publish or otherwise present the results and conclusions from their data. It is completely within reason to request this.
